What dietary supplements do Poles reach for?

An opinion poll conducted on a nationwide sample found that almost 73% of Poles use dietary supplements. Magnesium and potassium supplements are by far the most common, with over 50% of respondents indicating that they are used. One in four Poles use probiotic supplements. 22.5% of respondents also use preparations that are intended to help take care of their appearance.

Reasons for using probiotics

The main reason why Polish consumers take probiotics is because they believe it is important to protect the intestinal microflora during antibiotic therapy. We also often reach for them with the intention of strengthening immunity and improving the function of the digestive system. Probiotic supplements also commonly accompany irritable bowel syndrome and are also taken by pregnant women.

Frequency of probiotic use

More than 50% of respondents declared that they only use probiotic supplements when taking antibiotics. Less than 20% choose to take probiotics occasionally. On the other hand, 8% of Poles admitted to systematic supplementation.

Factors influencing awareness of the need to take probiotics

We most often learn about the need to take probiotics from our doctor. Much less frequently do we recognise supplementation by following the recommendations presented in articles on the Web. We are also relatively rarely guided by recommendations from pharmacists and friends and family members. Use drug testing to get to know your customers better.
